The Los Angeles Times is looking for an executive producer who can help push our podcast and audio efforts to new heights and develop the future of audio at The Times. The ideal candidate would create a culture of experimentation and define a distinctive voice that can evolve in a competitive marketplace.
In this role, you would build a team to produce best-in-class work and oversee all audio programming, whether interview and discussion shows or investigative deep dives. This is an amazing opportunity to leverage the reporting muscle of the aggressive, well-sourced journalists in the newsroom that produced “Dirty John” and to shape the audio strategy of an institution that wants to produce many more podcasts of that caliber and reach.
This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of a 137-year-old startup. If this sounds like the kind of challenge that cranks your engine, send a cover letter, resume and 250 words on a recent podcast episode you loved and why it worked (but not one of ours, please) to Len De Groot, assistant managing editor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a full-time management role based in El Segundo, Calif. We look forward to discussing the position with you.
