  • Overview

    The Director of Network Infrastructure will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing the firm's network infrastructure, Active Directory, email communication, data storage systems, VMware and telecommunication systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Managing a team of engineers to provide 24x7 support with data center technologies, including Active Directory, replication, virtualization, servers and data storage, email delivery, telecommunication systems, and network infrastructure.
    • Planning and tracking capital expenses and resource allocation of the Network and Telecommunications Infrastructure group’s IT.
    • Serving as the Chief Architect of the network and telephone solutions.
    • Owning the availability of network and telephone services and to monitor and take proactive action on network and telephone capacity.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing and directing staff and vendor implementation and support of the network and telephone solutions.
    • Architects and documents network architecture for network additions and changes to support new business and technical requirements and new versions of equipment and software.
    • Oversees the physical fiber and copper network plants.
    • Designs and oversees virtual networks for solutions deployed in AWS cloud.
    • Participates in leadership, team and customer/client meetings to understand organizational priorities and principles and share information and direction for the network.
    • Manages the capital, contracts and personnel budgets for projects and operations relating to the network engineering, operations, and telephone departments.
    • Creates content and delivers communication and awareness of network and telephone capabilities and changes.
    • Ability to implement secure delivery of cloud and software as an application service.
    • Working knowledge of infrastructure and systems including Palo Alto network devices, routers, firewalls and switches, enterprise storage systems, Microsoft Server 2012/2016, O365, VMware, and Cisco call manager systems.
    • Strong experience in designing and architecting high availability systems.
    • Experience with Aruba, Cisco AV infrastructure a plus.
    • Develop and implement standards and procedures in the areas of enterprise systems, telecommunication systems, cloud technologies, and network infrastructure.
    • Define requirements, strategy, solutions, and standards for network infrastructure to meet business needs and adhere with enterprise architecture & security standards Interfaces with IT and business groups for enterprise systems related projects.
    • Collaborate with other departments to develop and analyze systems in support of their projects or mission, then upgrade or enhance the infrastructure to meet these requirements.
    • Develop and manage operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, and enhance service quality/SLA Manage network infrastructure projects as required, and provide project management support for critical project.
    • Deliver effective engineering solutions for data and voice networks to address business goals and operational requirements on time and within budget Maintain all aspects of data center, network and voice vendor relationship.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Network Engineering or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
    • Master’s degree is preferred. Experience with network engineering, network operations, telephone and physical wiring plants is also preferred.
    • CCNA, PMP, CISM, CISSP or Palo Alto certification is desirable but not required.
    • 7 years of prior management experience required.
    • 7 years of technical team leadershi.
    • 7 years of hands on experience with Microsoft Server, data storage systems and email delivery.
    • 5 years of managing network infrastructure and telecommunication systems.
    • 3 years of vendor relationship management with telecommunication and network circuit providers.
    • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation High degree of initiative, dependability and the ability to work with little supervision.
